Guitar Amps

Guitar amps are essential for anyone that plays the electric guitar. Choosing the right amp, however, can sometimes be a challenge if you don’t know what you’re looking for. There is also an extensive price range when it comes to amplifiers, which needs to be considered as well.

Guitar amps come in one of two basic varieties; tube and solid state. Tube amps are highly regarded for their warm, round tone; but are sometimes a bit more temperamental. Solid state amps are often chosen because they can produce a good sound, but are also less touchy than tube amps can sometimes be.

Guitar amps can also be divided into head and cabinet designs, and combo varieties. Head and cabinet systems are designed in a modular fashion, where the head is separate from the speakers. Combo amps are designed with the head and the speakers contained in one unit.
