Guitar Strings

Replacing guitar strings is just part of the gig for guitar players. Burgeoning players will sometimes need help replacing strings at first, but will eventually become quite proficient. Many guitar players will end up replacing strings every few weeks, depending on how much and how hard they’re played.

There are many manufacturers of guitar strings. Finding the perfect strings often requires a bit of trial and error. It is not uncommon for a player to try out 5-10 different manufacturers before they find their favorite types of string.

Guitar strings are available in different gauges. Lighter gauge strings are usually recommended for beginning players, as they are easier on the finger muscles. However, many professional players use heavy gauge strings so that they can really “dig in” when performing.
